YES YOU CAN!!!!

The M.A.N. Campaign would like to acknowledge what took place on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, Barack OBAMA was elected to be the 44th President of the United States of America. The historic moment exemplified that with God, support, and perseverance anything is possible for young African American males.

To our young men we say...

If someone ever told you that you would be nothing....they lied.

If you someone ever told you that you were not intelligent....they lied.

If someone ever told you that your opinion did not matter....they lied.

You can do ANYTHING that you put your mind too. Anything.

Be positive. Stay strong. Be encouraged. The Dream IS Alive.

--M.A.N.

Thank You Philadelphia

On June 7, 2008 The M.A.N. Campaign ended in Philadelphia with two successful events. (See Press Release and Events for details.)

The overall purpose of the campaign in Philadelphia was to raise awareness about the need for more mentors, encourage men to get involved, and recruit men for mentorship organizations. M.A.N. accomplished its goal. (Click 'Read More' for special thanks.)

Many, many, many special thanks to the volunteers on The M.A.N. Campaign Team (see Contact Us -> Meet the Team) that dedicated countless hours on this much needed campaign. Your selflessness is to be admired across the city. You set the bar on what it means to be part of the solution.

Next M.A.N. will follow up with individuals/groups in other cities to see if they are interested in adopting the same model and implementing the campaign. Provided additional support is received M.A.N. can be implemented nationally.

The M.A.N. Campaign would like to send special thanks to the following individuals/organizations for their time, wisdom, encouragement, and/or support.
Save the Date: The MISsed Education Poetry Slam

The campaign ends in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 7, 2008.

To close out the campaign in Philadelphia, the team will do an event specifically for the young men it purposes to help. The team believes that there is a benefit to bringing young men together to hear stories from professional men that have turned their lives around. Since today’s youth are heavily influenced by music and the arts, we propose to end the campaign with a poetry event specifically for them. Two national artists and local poets have been invited to speak to young men about changing the direction of their lives. The event will also feature two of the campaigns Advocates. Each invited MAN will be given an opportunity to share their story about how they beat the odds and succeeded in their profession.

Stay tuned....
