Gov. Beebe congratulates new DNC chair. -

Governor Mike Beebe released the following statement  regarding the election of Virginia Governor Tim Kaine as chairman of the Democratic National Committee and the candidacy of Todd Turner as the next chairman of the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
 
"I congratulate Gov. Kaine on his election as the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  I have known the Governor through our work together in the Democratic Governors Association and the National Governors Association, and I have every confidence in his leadership of our Party.  I believe that Gov. Kaine, working in partnership with President Barack Obama, will accept the responsibility of ensuring that the Democratic Party thrives as a beacon of hope to all Americans.

Obama may quickly reverse abortion policy!!! -

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama is considering issuing an executive order to reverse a controversial Bush administration abortion policy in his first week in office, three Democratic sources said Monday.

Obama's second full day as president falls on the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in the United States.
